Open Territory was inspired by my month long rafting trip down the Colorado River. What? No river? The vastness of that area was what I wanted to convery. This hawk has the best means of travel through the canyonlands and dominates the landscape. Each woodcut is an original. The inking and hand pulling processes are labor intensive, contributing lovely individual differences and insuring a small edition size.
